Educational Travel

Besides its various programs, CEI sponsors special field trips and other educational travel experiences that help young people in Daly City and to motivate them to do well in school.

CEI helped pay for 26 Jefferson High School students to take a week-long trip to Washington, D.C. Students visited Capitol Hill and saw Congress in sessions. They met with elected representatives and they attended workshops with students from other parts of the country.

CEI splits the cost with The Experiment in International Living to send two Jefferson students on an overseas visit for six weeks during the summer.

CEI also supports the Sojourn into the Past program, which sent six Jefferson High students on a 10-day tour of the Deep South with other students from around the country to learn about the Civil Rights Movement.

CEI paid to send 50 students to the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles and to a visit to the UCLA campus.
