Club Jeff provides the same tools for health on the Jefferson campus that are usually available at high-end fitness clubs.  We promote regular exercise with expert supervision.  We monitor students using electronic software design to provide teachers with the ability to quickly and accurately evaluate student fitness levels while teaching health and wellness concepts. 

Funded through a five-year grant from the federal government, Club Jeff contains $115,000 worth of cardio and strength equipment.  Our personal trainers help students, parents or teachers to set up their own exercise regimens. 

Club Jeff reaches students not involved in organized sports and not interested in working out.  Special instructors present alternative ways to stay in shape -- dance, yoga, drumming, hiking or other activities.

It’s all free.

More than 200 students have joined so far.  Parents and faculty use the club too.

Higlighis from the 2008-2009 program:

• Club Jeff served 314 students this year, a 17% increase over the number of students served last year.
• 84.69% of Youth met 7 of the 10 State Fitness Standards.
• A 20% Increase over Baseline Performance for Fitness Measures was met for all ten of the state standards.
